The Bed
Today, I worked on integrating the lighting system into my bed. Similar to the ceiling lamp, I mounted the lights onto the bed's backboard and positioned them so that they wouldn't shine directly into my eyes.
This time, it actually worked!
I currently have a simple rule-based system that triggers a wake-up sequence at 7:30 AM. Since the speaker is still sitting on a breadboard, I haven't integrated the audio component yet, so it's just the lights for now.
Nevertheless, I find the gradual illumination surprisingly helpful for waking up. Instead of being abruptly interrupted by an alarm, I can actually feel myself waking up as the room gets brighter.
It's a small step toward the ambient wake-up system I originally envisioned for Cadence, but having it physically working on my bed makes the whole idea feel much more tangible.
Next up: getting the speaker off that breadboard and finally integrating the two.
