Speaker Prototype v1
I printed the entire enclosure yesterday, and I had a good feeling about it. It was cuter than I expected, and it didn't look like a conventional speaker at all. It had this sort of vintage vibe.
However, the problems started when I began putting all the components together. Since I hadn't designed a custom PCB yet, I had jumper wires flying everywhere. The screen didn't fit its frame, I broke one OLED trying to force it in, and the rotary encoder was longer than I had intended. In the end, I just held everything in place with an excessive amount of jumper wires (which, surprisingly, worked quite well).
I'm more satisfied with the finished product than I expected to be throughout the process. The sky-blue filament, which I didn't particularly like at first, turned out surprisingly well, giving the speaker this miniature, almost toy-like appearance.
Unfortunately, I also damaged the speaker driver while trying to block some of its small openings, and now there's this rather unpleasant noise coming from it.
It's still just a prototype, so I guess for the next version, I'll try to make everything fit more neatly, or maybe even design a custom PCB!
